Medicare insurance generally covers patients who need sub-acute/after-hospital care. Medicare requires a hospital stay of at least three nights, within 30 days of admission to our center, to qualify for coverage. Medicare covers the first 20 days of the stay in full and can cover up to 100 days, with days 21 to 100 covered at 80 percent. Patients are required to meet clinical criteria for coverage as defined by Medicare.
Medicaid is the state funded program for long-term care. To qualify, you must meet certain financial criteria set forth by the government. South Jersey Extended Care. Our friendly business office staff will help you apply for Medicaid.
South Jersey Extended Care participates with most major HMO and managed care plans. Before admission to our centers our Admissions Office will contact your insurance company for pre-authorization and to verify benefits. South Jersey Extended Care accepts long-term care insurance. Long-term care insurance plans generally pay for all or a portion of long-term care services.
